1.1.1 Is there an implemented system in place that segregates hazardous wastes? Are hazardous wastes properly identified with label? Is there a well-trained personnel/team in-charge of safety compliance of the disposal of such hazardous waste? Are training records/certificates available?

1.1.2 Raw materials that are deemed to be high risk with regards to mold growth should be kept in low humidity conditions (under 60% relative humidity) and room temperature (25-30°C). Before the raw material enters the manufacturing flow, make sure that biocides have been added to the raw material or a pre-treatment (bleaching, sunlight exposure) are taken place to ensure the raw material is bacteria free.

1.1.4 Is the factory able to demonstrate awareness of relevant strength, durability, stability, and safety standards for furniture? For example: EN12520/1728/1022, EN 12521/1730, EN581, etc. Is there a product safety assessment conducted to prevent user injury as a result of sharp edge or squeeze points? Are records available?

1.1.5 As a general requirement, is the product design constructed in a way that parts in contact with the user (e.g. seat, back rest, arm rest, etc.) are rounded or chamfered? Are accessible/exposed edges free from burrs/sharp points? Are end of hollowed component closed or capped?
